Tennis in the Scenic Central Vietnam Highlands

Dalat Vietnam Tennis. The high altitude of Dalat and its surrounding area in central Vietnam is what contributes to its temperate climate. Beautiful scenery and a slower pace of life make it a worthwhile stop on a Vietnam itinerary. We managed to find a very nice comfortable boutique hotel centered around a tennis court and garden, and then also discovered a tennis club close by where we were invited to play with some locals.

Gardens Full of Flowers and a Hotel that Wraps around a Tennis Court

Monet Garden Villa was a great accommodation find for us as we could see any action on the tennis court from our spacious hotel room. Getting to the court to hit some balls was just a matter of walking a few steps.

Tennis With Local Players at a Nearby Dalat Club

A tennis club close by was an opportunity to play with some locals. We spoke no Vietnamese and they spoke no English but the game is the same wherever you go and we managed to get in some great play with a young referee in the chair overseeing the match.

What to do in Dalat Vietnam after Playing Tennis

It’s known as ‘the Paris of Vietnam’ and fitting that description is an Eiffel Tower replica in the center of the city. 

A beautiful lake and flowering gardens are found near the centre of the city. 

The Crazy House Hang Nga Guest House and Art Gallery

One of Dalat’s most popular destinations for tourists is ‘The Crazy House’. You can either stay overnight, or just visit for the day. It’s shaped like a giant tree house with winding tunnels, ladders and sculptures of wildlife. A guest house by night, it has just over a dozen uniquely themed rooms. It was built in the 1990’s by a Soviet trained Vietnamese architect.

Great Tennis Accommodations for those who have packed a racquet

Spacious hotel rooms in a lovely garden setting filled with flowers. Our stay at the Monet was comfortable and relaxing and accessible to the city and surrounding areas of Dalat.
