Clay and Hard Courts in Lima
Our friend William Langley from Canada played here in February 2024 and here’s what he said:
“I played tonight at Centro Promotor de Tenis which is a few blocks away from Terazzas and right next to the lighthouse El Faro which you can see from the courts. It is on the edge of the cliffs. The courts are really nice red clay of course. It is open to non members but generally hard to get on since it is all booked up. Too many tennis players.
Lima is 10 million and has some rough areas but Miraflores and Barranco and San Ysidro are really nice all along the coast where the cliffs are. If you are a local you can surf and then go play tennis and then the Péruvian food is really good.“

“I am on Lima Miraflores. Tennis Club Terrazas is amazing but I cannot get in only members and guests. Centro de Promoción de Tenis is really nice a few blocks from Terrazas close to the lighthouse. I played at club Tayouk which is the Chinese association twice but only two clay courts and one hard. Facilities are not that great but court was good. I played as well further away in Chorrios which is like a country club but not fancy. The courts were great. They have 18 courts and two swimming pools and soccer fields and two restaurants. It is a working class country club and I think they have two thousand members.”
