Mexico Next Big Tennis Destination. Long known for sun and fun, Mexico is a beach lover’s, water sport enthusiast’s and golfer’s paradise. But in addition to these claims to fame, there may be more reasons for tennis players and fans to go to Mexico in the future. Mexico plans to expand its focus to become both a place to play and watch a variety of sports including tennis.

When the Mexico Tourism Board threw its hat in the ring as an Official Tourism Partner for the 2016 ATP Champions Tennis held at London’s Royal Albert Hall from Nov. 30-Dec. 4, the announcement did more than simply show support for the sport.
Mexico will host three international tennis tournaments in 2017 and for those who want to do more than be a spectator, there are a wide variety of beach destinations to choose from offering top-notch tennis facilities in all of the major holiday areas of the country. Hardcourt, sand-filled synthetic grass, and clay surfaces set in stunning backdrops with professional instruction, player matching and social tennis abound in this southerly North American paradise.

Mazatlan’s El Cid Club
Seven lighted laykold tennis courts are in an idyllic setting . The host to the ITF Mexico Futures tournament, El Cid has welcomed many tennis professionals including  Kei Nishikori, Gustavo Zareta (Brazil), Ryan Harrison (USA), and Ricardas Barankis (Lithuania).
Private lessons, clinics, drop-in drills, partner matching and numerous events  are held for both recreational and competitive players. Certified USPTR, ITF and FMT tennis pros are available for lessons or matches.
